Pugduko asks for one thing: a name, which can be your own or one the app makes up for you. It collects no email, account, location, contacts, advertising ID or device serial numbers.
Your progress — which levels you have solved, your stars and times, your coins and what you bought with them, your daily streak, an unfinished level, and your settings — is written to the app's own private storage on your device, and deleted when you uninstall the app.
The first time it runs, the app makes up a random number for this install. It is not derived from your phone or account, and a reinstall makes a new one. With that number the app sends to pugduko.app, the game's own server:
The version downloaded from pugduko.app also checks there for a newer version; the version from Google Play is updated by Google Play. The statistics are used only to see how many people play and which levels are too hard. The app shows no advertising, has no third-party analytics, and nothing is sold or shared. Everything is sent encrypted (HTTPS).
The web version at pugduko.app/play keeps your progress in your browser. It makes up a random number of its own and sends how far you have got, your time in the game and your level times, so Linus can see how many play. It asks for no name. The pages on pugduko.app may show ads from Google, which may use cookies; you are asked for consent first, and ads are never shown while you play a level.
Uninstalling the app deletes everything on your phone. To have what was sent deleted from the server too, email the address below with the ID shown at the bottom of Settings in the app, and it will be removed.
The game is suitable for all ages. It asks no one, children included, for personal details beyond a name, which can be made up. Ads on the website are not personalised for children.
